2021 Recap
Despite rising concerns over the Delta variant and the far-reaching effect of Hurricane Ida, the 2021 Lawn & Landscape Technology Conference went off without a hitch August 31-September 2, 2021, at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Florida. The three-day face-to-face event offered virtual pass options and expanded education for green industry professionals.
Keynote speaker Crystal Washington kicked off the event with a focus on the importance of people controlling technology – not the other way around. Additional education sessions covered everything from social media, to using software to manage HR functions, to the use of drones.
The show also hosted several pest control management speakers including Caroline Kirby, a technical director with Plunkett's Pest Control. She wanted attendees to consider using technology to drive their training programs for new hires, specifically mentioning tools like Kahoot, Quizlet and Mentimeter.
Throughout the conference, the 22,000-square-foot exhibit hall welcomed visitors featuring the latest products and services transforming the industry. Exhibitors were on hand to answer questions, talk shop and introduce new solutions.
“The amount of networking opportunities to get different ideas that you can implement in your business are endless here,” said Dani Collinson, director of client experience, Blades of Green Lawn Care and B.O.G. Pest Control.
