Ben Green

Co-Founder and COO, Strata Landscape Services

Ben Green has been deeply rooted in the landscape industry since childhood. At just 10 years old, he launched a neighborhood mowing business, managing a portfolio of a dozen properties—charging $5 per mow. A generous neighbor with a greenhouse entrusted him to "manage" its operations, further fueling his passion for the field. That passion grew when he attended Orange Coast College, where he discovered the arboretum and immersed himself in courses like Botany, Turf Management, and Plant Identification. He later earned a degree in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where he honed his focus on the technical side of the industry—merging time-tested traditions with modern technology.

Ben's professional career began in 2002 as an intern with ValleyCrest, working on the construction of the Huntington Beach Central Sports Complex in Orange County, CA. He quickly advanced within the company, eventually becoming a key member of the ValleyCrest corporate team. His roles evolved to include managing integrations, software development and deployment, and executive leadership—especially during the merger of Brickman and ValleyCrest to form BrightView. Throughout his career, Ben has worked in over 150 markets across 32 states, gaining valuable insights into the industry's diverse regional challenges and opportunities.

Today, Ben is the Co-Founder and COO of Strata Landscape Services. His team focuses on the landscape maintenance sector, growing through both acquisitions and organic expansion across the western and southern United States. At the core of Strata’s mission is leveraging technology to maximize labor efficiency while minimizing waste.

Outside of work, Ben enjoys surfing, rock climbing, skiing, backpacking, camping, and urban farming. He and his wife, Diana, also founded Strawfree.org, a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating single-use plastics.
