Maurice Coley

Maurice Anthony Coley, originally from Miami, FL, has been serving as the Superintendent of Landscape Operations at Georgia Southern University since September 2019. With a robust background spanning 20 years in both employee and entrepreneurial roles within the green industry, Maurice specializes in landscape design, maintenance, and management. Prior to his focus on landscaping, Maurice had a successful career in information technology, accumulating over 15 years of experience in both private and government sectors in Germany and the U.S. His dual career paths have thrived due to his strong work ethics, servant-leader management style, adaptability, resourcefulness, and troubleshooting skills.
Maurice earned his Master of Arts degree in Communication and Leadership from Georgia Southern University in May 2024. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA, which he obtained in February 1988. His IT journey began in Washington, DC, and continued in Atlanta starting in 1993.
Relocating to Statesboro has been a refreshing change for Maurice, who credits his faith as his foundational support. He has made significant contributions to the churches and communities he's been a part of. Maurice is married and has a blended family consisting of four adult children, one teen, and two grandchildren. In his leisure time, Maurice enjoys the outdoors, volunteering, cooking, and cherishing moments with his family.
